Crystals not only look good, but they can also make you feel good. Having them around can get rid of unwanted energy, offer your home protection, and even help you set a new intention in your life. But, with so many crystal options, which ones will offer the ideal results for your space? And what are the benefits of a crystal? To answer these questions, along with crystal size and cleansing (scroll down for that), we spoke with crystal experts Lauren and Courtney at Moon & Stone to offer their guidance and expertise. Whether you have a new apartment or are looking to change the vibe in the house you’ve been in for years, whether you're a crystal pro or a newbie, these are the best crystals for your home.
What Are the Benefits of Crystals?
Our energy and vibes are connected to our moods and feelings, so they’re constantly changing minute by minute. But, according to Moon & Stone, if you incorporate a crystal into your space or on your body as jewelry, the crystal’s vibe is steady. So, while you might be feeling all the feels, the crystal gives you the stability and grounding that you need in the moment.
We broke down the crystal you should keep in every room, from your home office to your bathroom, including entryways and any rooms with kids in them, all with the aid of our crystal experts. There are individual crystals to choose from, plus a bundle that includes everything you need for home protection. Moon & Stone personally picks every crystal they sell and only buys sustainably sourced options, so the vibes are on point. Keep on scrolling, these crystals rock.
A Room-By-Room Guide: The Best Crystal for Each Space
Placing crystals is so important, especially in a home where you might be sharing energies or interacting with others. Every person brings their own vibrations, so having a steady crystal energy can not only add to your home decor, it can also bring protective properties to each space. And if there are kids around, Moon & Stone acknowledges that “no one needs a steadier vibration than a child,” so crystals can help the whole family.
For the Bedroom: Amethyst
According to Moon & Stone, “Amethyst is such a tranquil calming stone. It's also great for meditation, but it really provides those Zen vibes.” Lauren and Courtney recommend keeping it on your nightstand, tucking it under your bed, or even placing it under your pillow for a restful, relaxing energy.
Every crystal from Moon & Stone is unique, but these gorgeous amethyst clusters are about 3 x 3 inches each. They promise that it will "help you become a curator of calm and an agent of inner peace," just place it by your nightstand for maximum results.
For the Kitchen: Clear Quartz
The reason why clear quartz is so amazing for your kitchen, according to Moon & Stone, is because it's a multi-purpose crystal and the kitchen is such a multi-purpose room. Clear quartz is known as “the master healer,” they note, “it's such a good universal stone" and can be good for everything.
Let the love in with this rose quartz carved moon. It's just the right size for keeping in your palm or placing by your bathroom mirror. Keeping it around can give you that self-love boost you need or facilitate a healthy relationship with a loved one.

A cute little clear quartz hexagon is the perfect accent for any kitchen decor. This crystal does it all -- except the dishes.
For the Home Office: Pyrite
Pyrite is a stone of abundance. Lauren and Courtney recommend it for the office because it's, “a perfect stone to manifest what you want out of your career, out of your day.” Not only is it sparkly and pretty, but it's also a stone that can provide confidence and power.
According to Moon & Stone, "we call this the badass stone." Pyrite can keep you focused and on point in your home office, or any place you concentrate on work or study. It also gets bonus points for helping with prosperity.
For the Living Room: Green Aventurine
Green aventurine is the stone of comfort and calm. And Moon & Stone love it because it “helps you figure out what makes you happy and it helps you release what makes you unhappy.” So it goes perfectly in the living room, a space for gathering, chilling out, or resting.
Open yourself to self-discovery and push out any unwanted energy with this green aventurine palm stone. It fits perfectly in your hand or you could get this stone as a chic tower that will soak in tons of compliments in your living room.
The Crystal Bundle That's Got You Covered
Moon & Stone created this bundle so that “everybody has access to good, sustainably sourced, high energy crystals that they can use all over their house.” Adding, “We want crystals in people's hands.”
This is the ideal starter kit for a crystal newbie and includes amethyst, labradorite, pyrite, rose quartz, cleansing sage, a charging selenite bowl, and more. Basically, you can get everything we've talked about so far, in one convenient package, for less than $100.
Plus Some Other Places in Your Home...
For Your Bookshelf: Labradorite
Labradorite is an intuitive stone and keeping it on your bookshelf can protect your energy or just give you a little direction. Lauren and Courtney keep it as a little spiritual navigator to help when they're feeling lost or just need a little help in the day.
Connect with your inner self, unlock your untapped power, and get a labradorite STAT. It can help you with transformations, insights, and looks so good while it does it.
For Your Entryway: Selenite
Selenite is a high vibe stone, according to Moon & Stone, so high that it will actually charge the other crystals around it. Lauren and Courtney love to put it in the entryway because people entering their home get a blast of “those super duper high positive vibes, but it also filters out the negative energy.”
This powerful crystal sphere doesn't just add a chic touch to your home, it can also purify your aura and open the door (in your entryway) for positive energy. It even comes with a stand for perfect placement.
Any Room with Kids: Smoky Quartz
Smoky quartz can be very calming (which is so important for kids). Moon & Stone report, “It's very relaxing. It's an anti-stress crystal. It also is great to pop under their pillow.” This kind of quartz can also be used as a manifesting tool, “it's a nice way to let the universe know what you want," Lauren and Courtney add.
A mix of carnelian, rose quartz, smoky quartz, a charging selenite bowl, and more, combine for this expertly curated crystal collection. You'll get grounding, a dose of creativity, and the patience to deal with it all in one place. It's great for anyone, but that smoky quartz is a standout for kids.
Does the Size of a Crystal Matter?
Although large crystals are beautiful to look at, Moon & Stone notes that you don't have to buy an expensive crystal to have it be effective. “The smaller ones still provide a lot of energy,” Lauren and Courtney add, “just because you can't afford a big piece doesn't mean that you can't have that connection and that energy in your home or on your body.”
How Do I Cleanse or Recharge My Crystal?
Yes. But, Moon & Stone add that it depends on “how much you're using that particular crystal and how much you need to cleanse it.” Some methods for cleansing include placing your crystal under running water or in soil (even a house plant will do), or lighting some sage and passing the crystal through the smoke. Lauren and Courtney know that cleaning crystals can seem like a chore but, “once you realize and you feel how much this crystal is giving back to you, like you want to take care of it.” Another way to recharge is under the full moon, just place your crystals in a window or on your lawn (doesn't have to be in direct moonlight), or in a highly-charged selenite bowl.
